Finally on the winning ways

Finally we tasted the success in cricket field after some narrow and many big loses this season. We won both our matches this weekend convincingly. Our new approach to rotate captain brought some luck to us. We'll continue this approach coming weekend as well and will try to finish the season on a high by winning all three scheduled matches.

Cerillion Vs Cytel @ Police Wireless Ground on Saturday: We won the toss and decided to bat against the opponents, who seemed very confident before the start of the match. We had to rope in the cab drivers RaghuNath and Prashant to make in the numbers for us. Amit McCann and Abhishek Singh provided us the solid start by adding 31 runs for the first wicket before Amit falling for a stumping. Then entered Rahul with his magical willow to entertain the crowd with his sixes and fours. Abhishek was as solid as ever and performed the sheet anchor's role to perfection. They changed the course of match with their partnership, which ended when Abhishek finally perished for well made 38 trying to pace up the innings. Sudheer was sent in next for some lusty blows. Rahul was unlucky to fell on 48, 2 short of a deserving half century. We finally ended our inning on 103 for 4 in 12 over's with me and Shantanu being the not out batsmen.

Target of 104 was never going to be easy for Cytel batsmen, but still they tried. As usual Vikram started the bowling with Rahul in tandem. Vikram was at his usual best with picking up the wickets while keeping the runs down. Rahul was bit off colour in bowling with conceding boundaries in second over(some due to our lacklustre fielding). Then Shantanu started his bowling career for Cerillion with consecutive wide in fourth over of the innings, But he came back commendably to finish his 3 over spell on trot. Abhishek pitched in with useful contribution in the bowling as well. Cytel needed 40 odd runs in the last four over's when Sudheer was brought into bowl 9th over of the match. He bowled with good control and sealed the match for us. Rahul completed the formalities in last over to deliver our first successful performance of the season. We finally came home by winning by 19 runs. Rahul was deservingly Man of Match for his attacking 48 runs.

Cerillion Vs Yash @ Magarpatta Ground on Sunday: Raju lost the toss on his debut as captain but led us to beat Yash convincingly to register our first win in Magarpatta tournament. Yash batted first and started attackingly. One of their batsman was middling some bowls and hitting them out of park. Yet Vikram and Shantanu maintained their cool to restrict them under 6 an over in first five over's of their innings. Then Shantanu picked up two in a row in sixth over to tilt the match in our favour. Then Vikram and Abhishek finished their innings in 8th over's by getting their 4 batsmen out on consecutive deliveries on the score of 44.

Target of 45 proved to be cakewalk for us, a team further bolstered by the inclusion of Amol in the batting ranks. Rahul and Sudheer were sent in to chase down the target under 4 over's by popular demand. Sudheer perished for a first ball duck trying to heave the bowler over the mid wicket. First over yielded only 4 runs. Then Rahul and Amol treated the crowd with lovely drives on front foot as well as on back foot. Amol hit consecutive sixes in 3rd over to reduce the target to 1 run in 7 over's. But Yash bowler bowled the wide first up in forth over to finish the match. We won the match with 42 bowls remaining by 9 wickets.

This rounded off the perfect weekend for us in Cricket.
